Baran Khosravifar

Iranian artist & visual communication student — Dubai

I am an Iranian artist and visual communication student currently based in Dubai.

My interest in art began at a young age through my family's background in jewelry design and the jewelry industry. Growing up around jewelry designers and family-run jewelry businesses introduced me early to design, craftsmanship, materials, and the process of turning an idea into a physical object.

I began working alongside my family and became particularly interested in jewelry design and making. I later formally studied jewelry design, developing skills in both hand-drawn jewelry design and digital jewelry design using Matrix.

My broader art education began in Iran, where I attended an art-focused high school for three years. During this period I studied and practiced across a wide range of disciplines including drawing, observational studies, color theory, painting, photography, composition, perspective, printmaking, visual design, and traditional and decorative art.

This multidisciplinary foundation gradually expanded my interests beyond traditional art and jewelry into visual communication and digital media. I am currently completing my undergraduate education in Dubai in Visual Communication / Digital Media — having completed two semesters at the American University in Dubai (AUD) and continuing at the University of Birmingham Dubai.

My work moves between traditional and digital approaches, with interests spanning drawing, painting, photography, design, visual communication, jewelry, and experimental image-making.
